Niner just announced a few updates to its BSB (Blood, Sweat, Beer) cyclocross bike today, just in time for you to get a few miles on one before ‘cross season rolls around.
The biggest changes to the new BSB are flat-mount disc brakes and two new colors: “Loud and Proud Green/Blue” and “Yin and Yang Black/White.” This version of the ‘cross-specific bike will feature SRAM Rival Build, a carbon frame, and an RDO carbon fork. You’ll also have to grab one when you can – another big change to the new BSB is that it’ll only be available in limited seasonal quantities.
Brad Cole at Niner says this version of the BSB will set the bike apart from the company’s other 2017 release, the RLT 9 RDO carbon gravel bike, and hone its ‘cross-specific focus.
“In the past our gravel line and cyclocross line shared build kits and needed to work for both styles of riding,” Cole says. “With this version of the BSB, since we went to a limited offering, it opened up the flexibility to have a dedicated ‘cross build kit.”
The updated bike will be available in multiple build kits. You can get the new frame on its own, or as complete which gets you a three-star SRAM Rival build with a Niner carbon fork, Stan’s Grail wheels, and alloy parts.
