TESTED: Velocio Ultralight women’s jersey – Bike Magazine Australia

The Velocio Ultralight jersey is light and breathable enough for any summer heatwave. It is deliciously soft and thin, and exceptionally flattering. I wore it recently on a ride at high noon, when the air was muggy and still.

It was one of those days when just riding in bibs seemed like the best option, but this jersey felt like the next best thing — without the side-eye from passers-by or the more unfortunately-placed tanlines that would’ve ensued. The only place my body felt the humidity was my dripping face; the rest of me stayed cool, thanks to the fabric’s noticeably good wicking.

The Velocio Ultralight jersey stretched when I moved, and stayed put when I didn’t. There was no bunching, flapping, or unwanted belly or back exposure. Part of this snug-but-comfortable fit comes from a silicon gripper in the hem, but it’s also tailored to fit a female cyclist’s riding position, so it doesn’t rely much on the gripper anyway. The low-profile collar and extended short sleeves help complete a sleek profile.

A full length zipper locks in place, so you can dial in how much ventilation you want without worrying about your cleavage making an uninvited appearance. The jersey also has three pockets that keep your snacks and tools snug to your body, without sagging or twisting.

Watch how to pack your jersey pockets like a pro:

Velocio has a strong commitment to sustainability. They’re a member of The Conservation Alliance, and they actively work to balance the performance and function of the clothing with their environmental impact. The majority of their clothing is created in Italy with the highest-quality materials, and made to be long-lasting so you won’t have to replace it as often. (I also just felt happy every time I looked down at the pretty purple with little white twinkles, and you can never underestimate the power of that).
