Skratch Labs launches new Anytime Energy Bars – Bike Magazine Australia

The newest offering from Skratch Labs is the Anytime Energy Bar, which comes in three different flavors: Chocolate Chips and Almonds; Cherries and Pistachios; and Ginger and Miso.

Like other Skratch products, the bars are made with real ingredients, including fruit, nuts, brown rice crisps, and quinoa. The recipe has a balance of protein, carbs and fat – and as little sugar as possible.

The bars are vegan, dairy free, non-GMO, cholesterol free, and have no trans-fats. Creator Dr. Allen Lim said that “after noticing that pre-packaged energy bars were constantly being consumed because of convenience, we decided try to make an option that was healthier.” That means the bars provide plenty of fuel for your most strenuous activities, but they also make a healthy anytime snack, without empty calories or additives.

Lim and his team also wanted to ensure that every ingredient had a purpose. The pistachios can benefit heart health, cherries can reduce inflammation, and quinoa’s complete protein can help rebuild muscles.

In a few short years, Lim and his team have put Colorado-based Skratch Labs on the map. In the beginning, pro riders used Lim’s “secret drink mix”, often substituting it for their sponsors’ formulas.

Lim’s clean recipe evolved into the popular Skratch Labs drink mix, and eventually energy chews, recovery beverages, and treat mixes (also known as cookies). Skratch Labs has published cook books, and even runs a healthy food truck operation, but only now is the company bringing an official bar into the line.

At first taste, I think that Lim and the crew at Skratch may be onto something. While it’s not quite like eating cake or cookies, the bars are sweet, savoury, and easy to digest. We’re hoping they make their way to Australia soon after being launced this week in USA.
