Whyte is a UK brand that’s been around for nearly 20 years. Its bikes are built to handle inclement weather in England – they’re known for being exceptionally weatherproof, with tightly sealed cable ports and a unique, wedge-sealed seat post.
The S150 is Whyte’s new progressive 29-inch carbon trail bike with a slack 65.5 degree head tube, short rear triangle, and 150mm of travel in both the front and back. With large bearings and Boost hub spacing, the S150 should offer a durable, stiff pedalling platform along with the increased clearance and rolling momentum that comes with 29-inch wheels. The S150 comes fully kitted out with a RockShox Pike fork and new metric shock, SRAM Guide Brakes, and SRAM X1 drivetrain. It also has a RockShox reverb dropper post.

When 27.5-inch wheels came around, many speculated that 29ers would fade away. But as 29-inch wheels pop up more and more often in the enduro world and even on downhill bikes, it appears that big travel combined with big wheels is a trend that’s gaining momentum. The Whyte S-150 will be available online this July.
