Canyon have announced a new range of bikes specifically designed for female riders.
Three distinct WMN models will now be available, with the company keen to set the benchmark when it comes to women’s bikes.
Canyon say that optimized geometries will make it more natural to achieve efficient riding positions, while a new 3XS frame size means riders as small as 152cm are now catered for.
The two smallest frames have also been engineered around 650B wheels, with the aim of transforming the riding experience for smaller cyclists.
The Ulitmate WMN CF SLX is slated as Canyon’s lightest road disc frame, weighing just 765g for the XS size. There is also an Endurance WMN AL model (with either Shimano 105 or Ultegra) and an Endurance WMN CF SL (with Shimano 105, Ultegra or RED eTap), which both come complete with the latest flat mount standard hydraulic disc brakes and 12mm through axles for enhanced control.
In all various flavours, there are a total of 10 different bikes in the range, giving females the type of choice taken for granted by male riders.
In a press release Canyon state: “The drive behind Canyon creating a whole new line of road bikes for women was simple: we wanted to set the new benchmark.
“From geometry and handling, to construction and aerodynamics, the new Canyon WMN models go a step further than anything done before to truly deliver better performance to female riders.”
European prices have been confirmed with bikes starting at €1,499 for the Endurance WMN AL, rising to €1,999 for the most basic Endurance WMN CF SL and €2,999 for the Ultimate WMN CF SLX.
A top-level Ultimate WMN CF with SRAM RED eTap, Reynolds Assault LE wheels and Schwalbe Pro One 25mm tyres is listed to cost €6,199 – with a full selection of Australian prices expected to be announced shortly.
